Hello! I'm Wendy Chang, an aspiring UX/UI designer living in Houston, Texas.

I studied Industrial Design in college and believed that a good product comes from a good understanding of people. After graduation, I worked as a graphic designer and developed essential visual skills. While continuing my design journey, I realized user experience is the key that shapes how people interact with a product, which is also why I enrolled into Designlab, so I can better understand what it takes to turn a product into a great product.

With my multi-disciplinary background, I fully appreciate the design thinking process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test during UX/UI design phases.

Some of my favorite designers are Charles and Ray Eames, Hayao Miyazaki, and Don Norman. Charles and Ray Eames taught me to focus on function and deliver products that are meaningfully for the users. Hayao Miyazaki showed me that a good design gives attention to detail; it also tells a good story and gives humanity to all the elements. Don Norman motivated me to understand the experiences of the users who will be interacting with my product. All these people inspire me to be a great UX/UI designer every day.

When I am not in front of a computer, I like to travel and do watercolor paintings. You can visit some of my paiting on Instagram.
